The stainless steel underwater treadmill has windows on two sides, a solid front with an electronic display that operates the treadmill and shows time, distance, speed, and calories burned. All three models operate from .8 mph to 7.5 mph.

There is a door at the other end so the dog can walk into and out of the chamber. Once the dog walks into the chamber, it can be filled with a garden hose (not included) from your home water supply, or if you have a sink/laundry tub near, you can fill it with warm water. You can also install a hot/cold hose bib close to where the chamber is located.

Depending upon the size of your dog, you can fill the chamber first and then lift your dog into the chamber for exercise.

There is a drain with a threaded ball valve on the exercise chamber to gravity drain the water outside or to a floor drain. A PVC pipe can be added to the threaded ball valve to control where the water drains.Keep in mind, the best location for this unit is near a floor drain.

Spray down the exercise chamber with a disinfectant, rinse it well and it will be ready for the next use.

Exercising in water has shown to benefit humans and animals alike by utilizing the properties of water:  Buoyancy, Resistance, Hydrostatic Pressure and Heat.

The buoyancy provided by water enables the body to unload weight and strain on joints, so your pet can obtain needed and/or more effective exercise. Often exercising on land causes pain, while exercising in water reduces or eliminates pain and discomfort. Hydrotherapy is especially beneficial for overweight and aging animals.

The resistance provided by water, which is much denser than air, enables pets to strengthen needed muscles, but when combined with buoyancy, reduces or eliminates the strain on joints.

The hydrostatic pressure promotes blood circulation which improves general health and wellness.

Heated water is soothing and loosens joints, reduces swelling, improves joint health, and increases mobility. It is especially more comfortable for older pets to obtain needed exercise.

Exercising in water has been used for centuries because of its natural healing affects and soothing environment, but also because it naturally increases metabolism. Exercising in water burns 5 to 10 times as many calories as exercising on land; thus increasing cardiorespiratory endurance and aiding in weight loss. Because of these natural properties of water, animals learn better balance and coordination which improves their muscle strength and aids in weight loss.

It is an efficient and safe way to exercise with positive results, if good safety protocols are followed.

Frequently Asked Questions

Where is the best location for my unit?

Locate the exercise chamber in a basement, laundry room or garage where access to a water supply, a drain and a 120 volt standard outlet are available.

What is required for Installation?

After unpacking the exercise chamber from the crate, add the four threaded feet to the underside of the chamber at the corners and the plastic ball valve to the drain pipe. You can add additional pipe to the drain line or add a 2” plug and hose fitting to control the flow of water when draining the exercise chamber. Be sure to level the unit. Plug the power cord into a standard 120 volt outlet. The exercise chamber does not include an on/off switch. For safety reasons, unplug the power cord when not in use.

How do I add water to the unit?

The exercise chamber can be filled with a hose, so filling it from a laundry tub faucet is ideal. You can also have a plumber install a hot/cold hose bib in close proximity to where you locate the exercise chamber.

How do I empty the water?

When the exercise session is finished, rotate the handle of the plastic ball valve attached to the drain pipe and the exercise chamber will drain.  After draining the chamber, open the door and your dog can easily exit the chamber.

How do I heat the water?

The exercise chamber is filled with a hose, so filling it from a laundry tub faucet is ideal. You can also have a plumber install a hot/cold hose bib in close proximity to where you locate the exercise chamber. Do not exceed 85 to 90 degrees Fahrenheit.

What maintenance is required?

The treadmill doesn’t require any regular maintenance, but we do recommend that you clean the chamber on a regular basis with a disinfectant and rinse the chamber thoroughly after cleaning it. We recommend using a solid surface disinfectant without abrasives.

Does the treadmill increase my electrical cost?

The treadmill operates using an efficient DC powered motor. Keep in mind, you’ll only use the treadmill for 15 to 30 minutes per day, so electricity usage is minimal.

How much does the unit weigh without water?

Small = 200 lbs., Medium = 250 lbs., Large = 350 lbs. Be sure to consider the weight of the unit with water, as it will depend upon the amount of water added – water weighs 8.34 lbs. per gallon – and might determine where the best location for your unit will be in your home.

Does the treadmill come with a guarantee?

The exercise chamber includes a 1-year parts warranty.

Can I return the treadmill if I change my mind?

Due to the nature of the product we do not accept product returns or issue credit.  If you have questions or concerns, please speak with us before you place an order.  We’re providing this product as a service to improve the quality of life for your pets.

What happens after I place my order?

We’ll contact you to let you know when your treadmill will be shipping, an estimated delivery date, and the name of the trucking company making the delivery. We’ll provide a tracking number if you wish to follow the shipment’s progress. The treadmill will ship in a wood crate which is strapped to a wood pallet. The truck driver will unload the pallet and bring it to your home, up to 100 feet from the truck. He’ll move it into a garage, but he will not move it through a doorway or, for example, into your laundry room. If you don’t have a garage, he will place the pallet and crate next to your house. It is your responsibility to unload the crate and move the treadmill into your home.

Easy fix to make our buddy comfortable again
Rachel Weatherby

My dog couldn’t go up the stairs anymore and was missing out on life with the kids. We wanted to do something for him and heard from a friend that exercising in water is very beneficial. Now we can give him soothing water fitness in his own treadmill on our time. And he sleeps with the boys at night again. We didn’t get a plumber to install a hose because we have it in our oversized laundry room and we just pour buckets of warm water from the utility sink. Works great.

Best Decision Ever

Age and table scraps are catching up with Louie and me both. This underwater treadmill did wonders for him so it’s been the best decision! He’s losing weight, he’s happier and his energy has returned. Louie is a currently overweight Labrador Retriever at 93 pounds. I got the large one.

Busy Mom, Quick and Fun Solution!
Ruth Gilbert

I’ve always had more than one dog at a time in my life and finding out that I can own an underwater treadmill where they can workout at the same time was very exciting. It saves time and money, and they love it! I would do anything to extend their life and make them more comfortable. They are my babies. I have four Maltepoos and a Bichon Frise. I have the small treadmill and keep it in the side garage.

I live in Florida year-round now and bought the medium size to use with my 55 lb. dog. Not sure what breed she is because I got her from a shelter and she developed hip problems. The closest vet with an underwater treadmill is over an hour away. I couldn’t get there a couple times a week so this works for us. Her workouts are part of our routine and it can always be 5’Oclock somewhere.
